Mischief
The Troublemaker
Supposedly, at least.
Squeakers and Mischief are sister cats, and they belong to my step dad and his kids, and have since before I knew them, so I don’t really know where they came from. I do know that these are not their original names. They are originally Apples and Peaches, and I do not know which is which. At some point they started getting called Squeakers and Mischief(she doesn’t cause any problems), but it took me a while to learn which was which, so I started calling this one Smalls. Because she is small and fragile, like an old lady.
Unfortunately Mischief seems to have a bit of separation anxiety, as any time people are gone for too long she starts to act out, which is weird seeing as most of the time she pays no mind to us being around, but, it is what it is.
Unlike the boys, Squeakers and Mischief don’t hang around each other or us that much. They prefer to spend almost all of their time laying on the back of a couch. When I first met the girls, Mischief pretty much wanted nothing to do with people and would run away if you got too close, probably because she had to deal with a lot of noisy children. I made it my mission to get her to change her mind, so over time I made gentle progress in letting me near her, and eventually it worked. So now she doesn’t mind people, and if you sit on one specific couch, she will even come to lay on you herself. What a treat. She is like her sister, though, in the fact that she will try and sit as close to your face as she can.
When we got the boys, she and her sister did not like them, so we had to keep them separated for a while. Now they ‘re fine but Mischief doesn’t interact with them much. Except! We have a treat dispenser toy that you stick to the fridge. She waits by it a lot of the time for one of the boys to come over and get a treat out, only to steal it for herself. Very selfish. But get that bag, sis, I guess.
She has also claimed one of the cat bed things as her own, and had before the boys showed up, but Midas uses it from time to time and she always looks disgruntled when that happens.
Returning to the topics of treats, despite being the smallest one, she eats so much and is constantly begging for food. If you even go to the kitchen she assumes she’s getting something. She usually is not, but that will not stop her from trying. She should be the one named Squeakers, with all the noise she makes while waiting for food.
