Ever since I was a child in school, learning about Egypt and their history was always an interesting subject. I remembered it more then a lot of the other history that I learned as a child, as theirs was always more captivating, and I attribute a lot of this to the fascination of the Great Pyramids of Giza. One of the man-made marvels of the world, that has so much interest to it. I've always wanted to gaze upon these pyramids myself. A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to have one of the trips of a life time. But, before I do anything else, I'll be sure to want to get a malaria vaccine.
Cairo
Essentially, right after I landed in Cairo, I almost immediately ended up going to the pyramids. You can see them in the distance on the horizon while you are in Cairo. For an optimal viewing experience, you'll definitely want to be sure to get closer. Annually, the Pyramids of Giza bring in approximately 14 million tourists. On top of housing the Great Pyramid of Giza, Cairo also is home to the largest ancient
statue in the world, the statue of the Great Sphinx, another indescribable sight to behold.
Safari
Throughout my time in Africa, I was also fortunate enough to be able to attend a ride through a safari. This was such an unbelievable experience, and definitely a highlight of my life. Another adventure that I would highly recommend someone take if they are ever in a scenario where they are able to go.
Being able to see animals, outside of captivity roaming around was incredible. The abundance of animals, and the diversity that I was able to see was awesome.
Giraffes are my favorite animal, so I naturally was eager to see one.
Overall, I had an exceptional time spent in Africa. My trip was for a total of 10 days. We were able to make the most of our time spent, everyone felt good and we didn't face any delays.
There is still much more of Africa that I would like to see, so hopefully within the future I will be able to return and check out some undiscovered terrain. I'd love to check out Cape Town, South Africa and see the penguin beaches.
