Iceland

During May of 2023, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to explore a new country that I have not yet been to but have been extremely interested in visiting. It's called "The Land of Ice and Fire", due to it's unique characteristics. I am referring to none other than Iceland. An island located in the Atlantic Ocean, west of Ireland and the United Kingdom. This country is considered to be part of Europe.

Interestingly enough, Iceland is the only country that I have visited that doesn't have any McDonalds. It is also considered to be one of the "Freest" countries in the world. It has one of the oldest democracies in the world believe it or not, and it is also considered to be the safest country in the world. Though the rugged scenery and landscape is what brings tourists in to visit, and that's most certainly what I was interested in seeing. Honestly, the pictures do not do it quite justice. I recommend that you go and experience it for yourself.

Travelling

From black sand beaches, to snow white peaks. Iceland truly has a unique terrain and features that are unlike any other country. The winding hills, and flourishing waterfalls are truly a sight to see. There is an abundance of unique scenery with sites to see everywhere that you go.

Throughout my time spent in the country, me and a few friends rented a vehicle from the airport at Reykjavik. Then we spent the next week or so travelling throughout the entire island. We had a big loop planned out with as many stops as we could fit. I've never travelled this way before, and sometimes we got on each others nerves - we didn't have a lot of space. Overall it was a great experience and a lower cost way of being able to travel. Iceland is not considered a cheap place for travelers to go.
