ABOUT US
Who are we? The ISS team is comprised of four members; Caleb Ruby, Caleb Rachocki, Caleb Massey, Ibrahim Alani. We've all worked hard in the last four years, and are excited to show off everything we've learned. While this website is not a culmination of our skills in the languages we've learned at PennWest, it is an incredible display of other skills that are key to being a software developer; problem solving, trouble shooting, dedication, and a desire to keep moving forward. At the start of this project, none of us had ever built a website before, but by jumping into the "deep-end," we learned how through trial and error. Ultimately, this resulted in the Inquisitive Study Site's existence and appearance as you see it now. Each of us have worked on this project diligently, and to the best of our abilities.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Breaking it down to its simplest form, the Inquisitive Study Site, shortened to ISS for simplicity, can be defined as a study resource. This resource is available for any and all students and is meant to encourage self-education and better study habits by offering various tools to do so. This project’s existence comes as a response to our own experiences in academic environments, as well as a desire to provide a meaningful way for our peers to learn and/or study various types of content. It’s worthing noting that in our academic experiences, we were able to find similar products already available online, but within recent years, most have moved away from a free model, now locking many features behind monthly subscriptions or account requirements. Some of these pre-existing services include Brainly and Quizlet. Unlike these costly services, the ISS is a completely free, unmonetized web-based platform. Once on the website, users can create, discover, and utilize user-defined study sets at no cost whatsoever.
